Spotless Mind is an ongoing digital collage project that began in 2018. I’ve used different techniques of collage, all while exploring through the parameters of Unsplash photo libraries and personal photography. Wallpapers are available for download on Instagram.

Where It Started

Spotless Mind began as a way to step outside my day-to-day design work — trading brand systems and grids for something looser and more instinctual. Each piece begins with digital photos and imagery sourced from Unsplash, then cut apart and reassembled into new compositions. There's no client, no brief here — just an image and a willingness to keep cutting until something feels right.

What I'm Chasing

Working this way has pushed me to pay closer attention to texture, light, and composition in ways that don't come up in client work — how a torn edge changes the mood of a piece, or how mismatched scale can make a familiar image feel unfamiliar. It's less a project than a practice, something I keep returning to when I want to stay comfortable with not knowing what a piece will look like before I start.

The Why

This series isn't really about the finished poster. It's about the habit of making without a fixed outcome — a place to be wrong, to experiment freely, and to rebuild my instincts as a designer. The skills I sharpen here show up quietly in everything else I make.
